A World Without Magic

Life would be so much easier with magic. Imagine deciding to lose weight. Poof it would be gone. No struggling for years or battling cravings. No need for expensive gym memberships or to pull a muscle every time you want to run a few calories off. No need for complicated meal plans or saying no to your favourite foods (chocolate, crisps and Irn Bru). One wave of your magic want from Olivander's and your be able to graze to your heart's content. Instead, here I am, sitting on my round arse, dreaming of my next meal even though I've only just finished my breakfast. Diets really make you obsess over food. It's almost as unhealthy as the takeaways and 3 course dinners you long to devour.

This time around, I'm following Slimming World and making an effort to document everything that passes my lips, in the hope that I can monitor how much goodness I'm really getting from my food.

While I'm healthy eating, I need to think about why I'm doing it, attempting to improve myself. I'm doing it for our daughter. The cute little bundle of joy that graced us with her presence in May. She is nearly on to eating solid foods so I figured it would be good if I can make good wholesome food that we can both eat. What better motivation do I need?

If only the munchies would subside...
